St Margaret's at Troy Town CE Primary School

We have a very close connection to our local Parish churches St Margaret's Church and St Peter's Church.

Rev’d Dr Joel Love is the Vicar of St Peter with St Margaret and he and the rest of his team are highly supportive of all that we do here at St. Margaret's at Troy Town.  They lead collective worship in school on a weekly basis and the Rev'd Joel Love is on our Local Governing Body.

Every September the Church holds a special 'Back to School' service at St Peter's for children, parents and staff to attend.

As part of the liturgical calendar the school including parents and the church join together for services at St Margaret's and St Peter's Churches during Christmas and Easter.

As part of our religious education children visit the churches to learn about our Christian practices and forms of worship.

Our choir is invited to sing at the parish Carol Service and a member of staff or a governor takes part in the service by doing a reading.

Rev'd Joel also inform the Parochial Church Council who always asks for news of the school at their PCC meetings, and they regularly pray for the whole school community.

Some children from SMATT attend regular worship at both St Peter's and St Margaret's, and in many cases were also baptised in our Churches.

We also work very closely with Rochester Baptist Church.

Amanda is a community worker and her role is to facilitate connections between the church and the surrounding community using their resources to support people in Rochester where possible. She has led worship in school and children from the school have been invited by the church to take part in Easter Experience.  RBC were also able to host and help lead our Bible activity sessions for years 2-4 (see below).

There are many activities within Rochester Baptist Church throughout the year that anyone can attend, for example; Little Stars (parent/toddler group), Craft club, CAMEO (Come and meet each other for 60+), Connect 4 (youth group for school years 7-9) and Deep Sea Adventures (Free holiday club for school years 1-6)

During Term 4 Years 2, 3 and 4 visited Rochester Baptist Church  to take part in a range of activities following the order they are found in the Bible. They started at creation, finding out about some people of God, moving through the Old Testament and then into the New Testament where they found out some things Jesus taught. They finished by looking at Paul who was telling people about Jesus after Jesus had gone back to heaven.  Have a look at what we got up to!
