Pupil Premium
Please read the information below which gives details of our Pupil Premium Grant and how we allocate the funding.
What is the Pupil Premium Grant (PPG)?
In April 2011 the Government launched its Pupil Premium funding. This money was allocated to children from low-income families who were currently known to be eligible for Free School Meals (FSM) and children who had been looked after continuously for more than six months. From April 2012, it has been expanded to include all children who have been eligible for FSM within the last 6 years (called Ever 6 children). At St. Margaret’s at Troy Town all children are valued, respected and encouraged to thrive regardless of their socio-economic background. The PPG assists us in providing additional support in order to overcome any barriers to learning that may exist as a result of financial and social deprivation. We use PPG to support all learners in our school with a particular emphasis on children who receive Free School Meals and Ever 6 pupils. The PPG funds are targeted to accelerate progress of disadvantaged pupils and their peers, narrow the gap in attainment between different groups of pupils and provide opportunities which enhance the curriculum.
If you would like to find out whether your child is entitled to free school meals please follow the link below and download 'application for free school meals'.
If your child does not have Free School Meals, but may be eligible because of your family’s income level, please contact the school office (in confidence) to register. By doing so, you can help the school invest more money in our children's education.
