This term we will be learning about the Sea and Oceans with our theme called 'Fun at the Seaside'.

 

Religious Education in the Early Years.

This term we will looking closely at The New Testament: What do Christians believe is special about Jesus and the message he brings?

Key Messages

  • Drop off 8:45am, pick up 3:15pm
  • Forest School day is Tuesday morning and afternoon. Children will need to bring in their own wellie boots for this and also for messy play in our garden that they can keep safely at school.
  • PE days will be on Mondays and Thursdays, children need to come dressed in their PE clothes and stay in them all day.
  • Please can you send a small bag with a change of clothes to keep at school in case of little accidents.
  • Water bottles are to be taken home each day, washed and returned to school every day.
  • Please write your child's name on all of their clothes and belongings. (shoes/coats/cardigans/sweatshirts/bags etc.) Please remember that we have 30 children, all in the same uniform!

At SMATT we greatly value the importance of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) in providing a secure foundation for future learning and development. 

Our curriculum recognises children’s prior learning from previous settings, and experiences at home before providing first hand learning experiences and has been carefully developed with The Seven Areas of Effective Practice (DoE, 2021) in mind.  Every child is recognised as a unique individual and we celebrate and welcome differences within our school community.

Term 5 - Queen's Platinum Jubilee

Rainbows have loved reading the book "The Queen's Knickers" by Nicholas Allen. We loved it so much we designed our own knickers and pants for the different events and occasions the Queen may be involved in.

Reception Baseline Assessment

During the first 6 weeks of primary school each child will undergo a 20 minute assessment around communication and literacy and maths.
