Key Information:

  • 'Drop off' Man of Kent Gate opens at 8:40amand the gate shuts promptly at 8:50am, so please make sure that you are on time. 
  • 'Pick up' time is 3:15pmand you can collect your child from the playground just outside our classroom door on the upper playground.  Your nearest gate will be the Reception Gate
  • For Term 5, PEwill be on a Thursday and a Friday.
  • Children should only wear small studs and they must be removed on P.E days.
  • Hair must always be tied up to prevent head lice. 
  • Please ensure they have a water bottle each day.
  • The children are provided with school stationary for in classroom work. However, they are permitted to bring in their own stationary for break and lunch times. Whatever the children bring into school is their responsibility.
  • If you need to contact the class teacher, please go through the office to arrange a meeting or pass a message on.

Forest School:

  • Forest School is in Term 6.
  • Please see the Forest School webpage for more information

Homework:

  • Homework will go out on a Thursday and be due in on a Tuesday.
  • This will alternate between Maths and English.

Reading:

  • Children should be reading around 3 times a week and comments to be written in their reading records.
  • Reading records are checked every Monday.

Spelling:

  • Class spellings are given out on a Friday and they are tested on them the following Friday
  • These spellings are based on our RWI Spelling scheme and are used each week in class as well as using years 1, 2, 3 and 4 statutory spellings.

Times tables:

  • Children will be tested on their Times tables every Monday.
  • Once children get 100% on a stage, they move up to the next stage. Children are told what stage they are on and what they should be practicing.
